Liquid Nitrogen Shrink Fitting
 
Bishop Engineering undertake shrink fitting operations of any size. 
Using our expertise with  liquid nitrogen, we can reduce the dimensions of one component by thermal contraction to enable tight tolerance or interference fitted components to be fitted together. 
 
This picture shows the largest shrink fit operation that we are aware of: a set of four five-tonne liners were cooled in a very large bath of liquid nitrogen and lowered into a large flask.
